Buffalo, first city to ban drones?

Wait, what? Buffalo? Buffalo, as in Western New York, Buffalo??? The first city?

One can hope, right? Even the fact that this story is out there is a promising note of sorts. If this were somewhere else, perhaps not a story, but Buffalo!? This is groundbreaking. Now a reality check. As great as it would be for local municipalities, cities, and states to ban the use of drones in their airspace, how would/could they enforce that. Regardless, it’s a good idea. 

I love you, Buffalo! 

Buffalo on the rise?

A short article outlining some of the good and bad of recent Buffalo history. One of the commenters posted a link to a similar article from 2007, albeit with a more negative outlook. Buffalo is a great city with great people. However, it’s no secret they’ve been in a steady decline since the 60s, and the attitude of some of the older folks show it. Perhaps that’s beginning to change. If I had the means, I’d move back in a heartbeat. One day, maybe, one day.

Grandparent’s down from Buffalo…

And this is how my afternoon went:
Had a 3pm Labatt Blue with Grandma. It is beer Wednesday, after all.

She has a 103-year-old aunt in Canada; apparently very “with it”. I’ll take that as good news, however, a lil bit scared as to what the U.S. will look like in 70 years! Perhaps Canada is the key to the story?

There may or may not have been naps mixed in.

Mom mixed a few things that have no bidness being mixed for dinner. I passed.
Conversation moves quickly- dirt on family; history of Wegmans, Topps, and other Western NY grocers; all things Lake Rushford; record players; Grandpa hates HP printers; chocolate; and a solid 15-minute debate on the differences between my mom’s and Grandma’s, or (arguably) Grandpa’s mom’s, recipe for potato pancakes. 

I cannot make this shit up, folks. I love every minute of it! Speaking of dirt, my grandma knows more shit about more people in Buffalo than perhaps all of the people I’ve ever known! She puts Facebook drama to shame… and it’s all old school! That’s real Buffalo!
