BOLLOCKS!
After almost a week off from tattoo recoup, I need to hit the pavement tomorrow morning; ya know, an old fashioned foot massage. Rain/snow mix does not sound like fun. Think I’ll have to find me bollocks and make due eh! See you at 5am.

Fact #5
I miss my hair sometimes.
I used to have the nastiest, thickest hair on the planet. In fact back in my long hair days I used to do the shave the sides and back bit because it was so thick I could probably do the white-fro! That and I wanted to be like Phil Anselmo. To really peel back the onion here for no good reason at all, I cut a tshirt sleeve off and wore it on my head at night so my hair...

Fact #4
The first cassette tape I can remember being mine was Billy Idol’s Vital Idol. I mean, who didn’t love Billy Idol in the mid ’80s? Just a tike, what the hell did I know? My first CD was Pearl Jam’s Ten, naturally, very soon after it was released. In fact, I don’t even know if I had a CD player ironically. Very soon after I bought Metallica’s Ride the Lightning...

Respect Where Due
The University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish. What do you think of when you hear that name? Knute Rockne, the Four Horsemen, Frank Leahy, Ara, Lou, even the great Digger Phelps and Austin Carr. I could go on and on naming football household names and some well known basketball names as well. Fan or no fan, it’s one of the most recognizable franchises in all of sports.
What about these two...

Fact #3
I talk more with (at) my dog (Frankie) and the cat (Sōcrates) more than any human being on most all days.
A majority of this takes place with either a British or Scottish accent. Once in a while, Russian makes it’s way in there as well. On many occasions the request song as well. I’m more than happy to oblige.

More on barefoot running →
I like the 6th paragraph down. Again, this isn’t something I’ve fully bought into as being wholly beneficial to everyone. I actually don’t have an opinion either way, even if I’m still a noob. For me, I’ll stick with shoes of some sort as long as I running where I do. I can only imagine… glass, rubbish, doo-doo, McDougals straws, heroin needles, any needles for...

Run for Saturday
I certainly didn’t break any land-speed records but if I knew what was waiting inside my door you may have seen a white Kenyan rolling through Old Town! Best of uploading NOW! The run felt pretty good. Thirsty and had to pee at about mile 2 of 10. I soldiered through that nonsense. Did bring some Trader Joe’s power berries with me, in a baggie, in my shorts. Hindsight, probably not the...

Some more recent GPOY.
…and new pic in the ugly mug page.
Me and this lady I picked up in Manhattan. St. Andrews Restaurant and Bar. It’s just how I roll. (that is a joke) That was a very bad morning after… very bad. Found this here kid too. In between Vace Italian Deli and the National Zoo. Meatball subs and monkeys… couldn’t ask for a better day. To the metro. Some random Friday...

House Gear
A couple of my favorite things around the house. Fairly sure Mom/Dad picked them up for me a years ago. Not sure from where (in the city that is)… not sure what the intended purpose was other than just being stamps; maybe just tourist chachkis, who knows but I kind of love them.

Fact #2
I do not carry a wallet. It was scary at first, letting go, but liberating after all. I can generally obtain everything I need throughout the day with my ravishing good looks and quick wit. You never saw James Bond take out some fist-sized piece of garbage billfold from his suit coat did you? You won’t see James Cowan do so either. I do not need that receipt from 10 months ago; I do not need...

Where were you at 0430?
The lovely sound of a dying smoke detector woke me up then. You know, that annoying beep every 30 seconds or so. Of course, there’s the smoke detector next to the CO2 detector and the pitch of the beep is such that I couldn’t determine which one it was. May as well run right?! As it turns out it was a disappointing run. I thought I sprinted a 5K, for me at least, at just over 20...

Fact #1
I feel like opening up a bit. Maybe a fact a day… or so. As promised: I have completed a Zombie Vulnerability Assessment on my house. It is not impenetrable and would not be my first choice as a stronghold. In the event of invasion, however, this can be quickly remedied with some minor adjustments to the few weaknesses. One of which, the back door from 1930. I’m certain if rain can...

McRunner sets his McPR with his McDiet →
What a McBoondoggle. I guarantee there are going to be a few jackasses out there who will use this as justification that McDs is not all that bad. The story fails to mention the probable McShits he had to deal with daily. McAwesome.

Run This.
Just under 7 miles this morning just before the storm. Would’ve liked to get another mile in but had to do this work thing which is starting to be a real drag. I could probably save a good 30 minutes by not showering but I don’t want to be that guy on the Metro. I mean, I smell fairly sexy after a run, but I don’t want to sweat on people is all; that is rude. Thought I’d...

Bow down, other cities! Few can match the glory of a sunny day in Seattle.
View from my corner office the lunchroom.
…this was my view. Beats the hell outta my crappy Rosslyn view. I love you Seattle…and I miss you…and I will see you very soon.

Run and Rant
Long but necessary.
Today’s 7-miler was awesome. It was a nice cool 55 out, didn’t have to wear the bollocks constrictors to keep the thighs warm, shed the thick top and went light, and NO hat and gloves! Stupid work getting in the way of running longer unfortunately. I guess I could’ve woken up at 4 instead of 5 but at least at 5 or 530 there’s the chance of seeing other...

How to Reap the Benefits of the... →
Good read on the trend. My take is there’s always a happy medium in whatever the popular trend is this given day. It was no different in lifting. There’s always the “this is what you need to do” folks out there and even more who would take their word as gospel. Same here, there’s no cookie-cutter workout/run/lift, what have you. Everyone is different and will have...

Metro Shenanigans on a Monday Morning.
Gotta love it… I’ve actually had a decent run on the Metro lately but to be perfectly honest I haven’t ridden as often with travel and days off. Trucks in the shop so I had to don the rain gear and take the train. Naturally the Blue line was like a clown car and naturally there were problems. Once I stepped on the train I immediately had the feeling we would be offloaded b/c of...

A Man A Plan A CAnal PAnaMA
Serious issues affecting my life at this very moment. (joke) I am a self proclaimed nerd on some subjects and I like to think I can manage my way around a computer and the WWW without exploding anything… and I’m all in for mac. One thing I cannot wrap my head around is iPhoto. I would like to take my laptop and smash it into 237 pieces right now but Rick Jeanneret is keeping me from...
